We are all served by the Federal government. What percent of our citizens should be allowed to pay no Federal Income tax at all?
I didn’t ask about other taxes. I don’t care about other taxes. We are all protected by the military and served by the Federal government so how many people should pay NO FEDERAL INCOME TAX?
Income tax is less than half of federal revenues.
All the rest of the tax burden is passed down to those at the bottom.

We need a flat tax.
We should do away with income tax. Everyone should be charged 15-20% on every purchase they make. This way everyone has to pay taxes. The rich buy more expensive things than I do and that would be reflected in the taxes on those items. Even those on welfare. At the end of the day, we would actually have more money in our pockets and everyone pays their fair share.
Well since they shifted the tax burden from income tax and corporate to payroll tax any one who works contributes taxes.

I noticed this too, most of the taxes are paid by the upper class, In fact the top 5% pays around 37% of all taxes and Liberals are outraged these people dont want to pay more.
At the end of the day I dont see why people who dont pay taxes think they can complain about how much taxes those that do pay are willing to give.

If that’s true, that 47% of Americans pay no Federal income tax, then we are one f***ed country. And someone else is saying that 49% receive some kind of benefit (assuming she means not an entitlement).

Btw, I make very little, yet I pay taxes. I get a rebate (well, Sallie Mae gets it), but it’s not the total I payed for the year. Joe, can you tell me how people are doing this?

They may have paid no income tax, but they did pay social security and medicare/Medicaid tax.
In fact, they paid more than the rich.
What about state sales taxes? You rarely hear about those. As a percentage of disposable income, minimum wage earners pay FAR more than the wealthier set for the same necessities. Not all states have a sales tax, but in those that do, lower income people shoulder more of a burden than do the wealthy.
Well … let’s see … SINCE the percentage continues to rise under Liberal rule and everyone knows they do this to bribe people to vote for them, they need at least 51 percent of the electorate to have a free ride and to hate those evil rich people.

Everyone should pay something. That way they have some skin in the game. The whole tax system should be simplified to some sort of year end post card.
They do not pay nothing they DO pay taxes. It really says a lot about the polarization of America if people are working and do not make even make enough to be taxed, while their bosses are buying a second house and a new car. They are not living the good life working low wage jobs with no benefit’s or respect .
You want to add to the polarization by taxing the poor that do not make a livable wage while giving tax cuts to the "rich"..

kids pay no taxes thank to God, 5% of the people have 60% of americans wealth, 40% have 2% of american wealth. I ask you who should pay more taxes. Math can B twisted to make it look like half of americans are free loaders, when they in fact in poverty. News stations such as Fox tell only the side of the story to protect the rich which owns them.
